Description

Burnt Out is a turn-based chain-reaction roguelike. Every keycap on the hex grid is a puzzle piece: tap one and its arrows fire into its neighbors, and a well-planned move ripples across the entire board. Hit quota to survive the round and protect your Boundary, because the workforce pushes back every single turn.

Every boss is someone you've worked with. The Intern, the NepoBabies, the IT Guy: each plays the grid against you with its own dirty techniques. Beat them, loot a permanent power-up, and climb the org chart. Between fights, spend your salary on upgrades that stack into something the shareholders would never approve: extra turns, chain relays, exponential score triggers. Fail, and you're terminated. Permadeath, new run, new build.

All of it wrapped in a vaporwave office aesthetic: synth soundtrack, optional CRT filter, and corporate satire throughout.

History

Burnt Out is developed by Yesternow Games, a solo studio in Madrid. It has been in open Steam Playtest since July 2026, with the design evolving directly from playtester feedback. A public demo is planned for Steam Next Fest in October 2026, with the full release targeted for Q2 2027.
